Voted Best Knoxville Frozen Pipes Services

The freezing of pipes is common during the winter. There are several signs of a frozen pipe. In some cases, the freezing of pipes may resemble clogging. If you are not sure whether your pipes are frozen, it is recommendable to contact a reputable plumber to fix the problem.

You should seek Knoxville frozen pipes repair services as soon as you notice some signs as failure to do so may result in many problems.

The Negative Impact of Frozen Pipes in Your Homes in Knoxville

If your pipes are frozen, there will be no running water in your home in Knoxville. As a result, you will not have the ability to carry out crucial tasks such as laundry and washing dishes. The unsanitary conditions may eventually lead to diseases among your family members. Another problem that can result from frozen pipes is bursting.

The freezing of pipes leads to increased pressure inside the pipes and eventually explode. If the affected pipes explode, the floors will become slippery, and this may cause injuries to residents in Knoxville.

It is costly to repair pipes in a flooded home in Knoxville. Some plumbers may ask thousands of dollars to fix the problem even if the flooding is a few inches.

The flooding may also damage other valuable items in your property, including painting, woodwork, and other possessions. Burst pipes will also promote the growth of mold, mildew, and result in water-borne pest infestations in your home in Knoxville.

According to medical experts, the growth of mold can have a negative impact on indoor air quality. The poor air quality will affect asthmatic people and trigger allergies for some people in Knoxville.

Most people assume that their homeowner’s policy will offer protection for burst pipes. Most insurers accept claims for burst pipes. However, some homeowner’s insurance policies in Knoxville exclude coverage for burst pipes if it is found that a policyholder did not take precautionary measures. Therefore, every homeowner in Knoxville is expected to prevent the bursting of pipes.

How to Prevent the Freezing of Pipes in your homes in Knoxville

  • Maintaining Warm Temperatures.

Ensure that the heat is on in your property in Knoxville, even if you are leaving for a long period. The heat is effective in preventing the freezing of pipes. Experts in Knoxville recommend homeowners to maintain temperatures above 50 F. The temperature is enough to prevent the freezing and bursting of pipes.

  • Apply Heating Tape on Pipes.

The use of heating tapes helps to supply heat directly to the piping systems in your property in Knoxville to keep them warm even during the winter. It is an effective technique of preventing the freezing of pipes in short sections that are vulnerable to freezing.

Common Signs of Frozen Pipes in your homes in Knoxville.

  • No Water in your Home in Knoxville

If freezing occurs inside the pipes or faucets, it will affect the water pressure. In some cases, it can be stopped completely.

  • Unusual Sounds in your home in Knoxville

If you hear unusual sounds from your water supply pipes, that may be an indication of frozen pipes. Some of the most common sounds from a frozen pipe include whistling, banging, and bubbling.

  • Strong Odor in your homes in Knoxville

It is one of the easiest ways to identify a frozen pipe. If freezing occurs in your piping system in your home in Knoxville, there will be strong smells from the sewage.

  • Wetness.

If some or all the pipes in your system are exposed, you will see condensation on the outside part of the frozen pipes. In some cases, the affected pipes may bulge and eventually burst. Check the rings in your piping system. If you notice some wetness, there is a possibility that the pipes have burst.

Plumbing FAQs

Pipe corrosion can be caused by a number of things, almost all of which are related to water quality, including:

  • Chemicals in the water
  • The pH of the water
  • The amount of oxygen in the water
  • The temperature of the water
  • The water pressure and the speed at which the water moves through the pipes.

If you think you have a leak in your home, there’s an easy way you can check. Go out to your water meter and record the level. Make sure no one uses any water for a few hours, then go back and check the meter again (it’s easiest to do this when everyone goes to bed, then check it again first thing in the morning). If the level has changed, you probably have a leak – call Hero Services to have it taken care of right away!

Yes! Not only do leaks get larger with age (see above) but they can also potentially cause damage to your home. Leak detection and repair offers a number of other benefits, including:

  • Reduced or eliminated water loss
  • Reduced risk of damage associated with leaks
  • Reduced need for emergency repairs
  • Reduced need for water treatment and pressurization

Yes. Water leaking out of your pipes or fixtures will eventually cause enough corrosion that even a pinhole-sized leak can eventually grow and potentially cause damage to your home.

Most faucets can be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth. If you just installed new faucets, you may want to find out if the manufacturer has any recommended cleaning solutions for more stubborn stains. Make sure to avoid any abrasive cleaners or pads – these may scratch the surface and finish of your faucet.
